Kamala Harris Suits Up in Gray and Signature Pearls for ‘Stephen Colbert’ Appearance, Talks ‘Strength of Our Nation’ Ahead of 2024 Presidential Election
Kamala Harris stopped by “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday in New York City to chat with the talk show host ahead of the 2024 presidential election. The Democratic Party’s nominee for president and current vice president discussed economic policies and more.
For her late-night talk show appearance, Harris wore a wool, steel gray suit. The vice president’s outfit included wide-leg, high-waisted trousers that matched her single-breasted blazer, which featured sharp shoulders and lapels, along with two pockets.

Harris complemented her steel gray suit with a black blouse under her blazer, paired with pointed-toe black heels. Among her accessories, Harris opted for a staple of her political wardrobe.
The Democratic nominee for president chose a pearl necklace and earrings by Irene Neuwirth. Throughout her 2024 campaign, pearls have been an integral part of Harris’ wardrobe, honoring her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, from her time at Howard University. The sorority’s founders are known as the 20 Pearls.
While speaking with Colbert on the late-night talk show, Harris discussed her hopes for the future. “I love the American people and I believe in our country,” she said. “We have aspirations; we have dreams. We have an incredible work ethic and I believe that we can create and build upon the success we’ve achieved in a way that we continue to grow opportunity and in that way grow the strength of our country.”
Harris’ presidential campaign stops prominently feature tailored power suits, often in muted tones, paired with elegant, sentimental touches like her pearls. As the election approaches, it seems likely Harris will continue to embrace this sartorial trend.
