Kanye West Leads 'Sunday Service' in Dayton, OH in Support of Mass Shooting Victims

Kanye West held a very special Sunday Service, far from Calabasas, with wife Kim Kardashian.

The family moved the service to Dayton, Ohio to support victims and survivors of the mass shooting that ocurred just weeks ago.

Kanye honored the 9 people who died and 27 injured, and wore shirts emblazoned with the message, "In reverence of the victims and support of the survivors of the Dayton mass shooting."

The special performance was held at RiverScape MetroPark, in Ohio and the event wasn't announced until early this morning.

Kim Kardashian also posted a message on her Twitter feed about the special event, saying, “In support of the victims and survivors of the Dayton mass shooting,”

The reality star shared a link where anyone who could not attend in Dayton, could still watch a live stream of the performances.

The performance was reportedly attended by some of the people who were present on the night of the deadly shooting, and those in the community who were directly effected.

At the end of the event, Dave Chapelle, who is also hosting a benefit concert in town, spoke to the crowd during an emotional and uplifting speech.

“Dayton, today the whole world is looking at you..been through a tough time...We’re still strong and the only way — the best way, that we can honor our fallen is by getting up better than we were before,” he told the crowd.

“We will not let those people die in vain.” Chapelle proclaimed.

The comedian then thanked Kanye for coming out and doing this for the community ... and Kanye even had a special surprise for his friend.

The Sunday Service choir sang Chapelle "Happy Birthday," as it was the comedian's 46th birthday on Saturday.

The Dayton shooting from August 4 was one of multiple mass shootings that went down within days of each other, including another in El Paso, Texas, inside a Walmart, which left 20 people dead and injured 26 others.
