Luis Fonsi and Anitta presented the award, which went to Rosalía for Motomami last year. Laura Pausini, who was in the media room when Karol’s win was announced, celebrated the Colombian artist’s big moment with a happy shout. “Mujeronas esta noche!” she cheered. Karol had presented Pausini with the Person of the Year award earlier in the night.
Karol won several awards Thursday in Seville, including Best Urban Fusion/Performance for “TQG” with Shakira and Best Urban Music Album for Ma?ana Será Bonito. She approached and hugged Feid before accepting the latter award.
“Can’t believe we got album of the year and two more Grammys,” Karol wrote on Instagram shortly after the ceremony. “No one will ever really know how much this album means to me, the work and love behind its creation and the beautiful things it has brought me life and to my heart.”
“Definitely my tomorrow has become very beautiful,” Karol added. “Thank you God and thank you all for so much love.”
Karol made history when Ma?ana Será Bonito became the first LP from a solo Spanish-language female artist to reach number one on the Billboard 200. After releasing the album in February, she quickly unveiled the companion album called Ma?ana Será Bonito (Bichota Season) in August. The song captured a more playful side of the artist as she worked through heartbreak.

She outlined her experiences making both projects when she appeared on the cover of the October issue of Rolling Stone. “I go over the strange moments, the crazy moments, the difficult ones in my head,” she says. “The moments where I felt, ‘I’m dying and I won’t be able to deal with this.’ It’s what I had to go through to get to today.”
