Kate Beckinsale hilariously tricked ex Michael Sheen into dressing up as her cat

Breaking up may be hard to do — but Kate Beckinsale and Michael Sheen make it look like a blast.

The former couple — who have a 19-year-old daughter, Lily — split in 2003 but have maintained a close friendship. In a 2016 interview with Peter Travers, Beckinsale praised Sheen as “really dear, close family.”

But he’s also often the butt of her jokes — quite literally, in a recent prank.

Her latest Instagram post shows the mischievous star tricking Sheen —who broke up with Sarah Silverman in 2017 and is currently dating comedian Aisling Bea — into slipping on a costume that she had made to look like her cat.

The former Masters of Sex star is seen complaining about how tight his furry pants are, and he expresses confusion when Beckinsale drapes more fabric over his head and tells him to bend over.

“How come I’m down here with my nose up your arse?” the bewildered actor asks Beckinsale, who is getting into position as the front of the cat, complete with oversized head.

The English actress, who previously had to settle for wearing the outfit solo, told fans about the “untold joy” it has brought her. She also called Sheen a “sport” in a note to their daughter.

Whatever she paid for that getup was worth it.
