Kate Beckinsale With Pink Hair Was Not on My Celebrity Beauty Bingo Card

They say if it ain't broke, don't fix it, and there isn't a single thing broken about Kate Beckinsale's hair. The British bombshell loves to wear it long and wavy, and for the most part, its color has fallen somewhere in the blonde/bronde/light brown spectrum. Changing it up usually means lightening it or darkening it a bit, or throwing in some golden highlights. So imagine our surprise when the actor decided to make an end-of-summer switch to a shade that seems totally out of left field—albeit totally adorable, too.

Beckinsale posted a carousel to Instagram highlighting her attendance at a pomeranian party. And while all the photos and videos of the pups are incredibly cute, but let's be real: equally cute is her new pastel pink hair color. She topped off her ensemble—a sheer white blouse, white shorts, and black knee-high boots—with the romantic hue. And it was done with a surprisingly affordable at-home dye.

“We wanted a little change so I decided to give her the signature ‘Dimitris Pink’ hair color,” says stylist Dimitris Giannetos, who refers to the look as strawberry whipped cream. “I used my favorite, L'Oréal Paris Féria Smokey Pink."

Giannetos isn't kidding when he calls this Féria shade his "signature Dimitris Pink.” He tells Allure that he's used it on multiple celebrity clients, including Megan Fox, Joey King, Emily Ratajkowski, Ciara, Lana Condor, Shania Twain, and Meghan Trainor.

And while you may not be able to hire Giannetos to apply it for you, you can definitely get the look yourself, for less than $15. “It’s so easy to do it,” he says. "And for all the boys and girls who love to experiment with their color themselves, they can do it at home fast and easy."
