Kate Hudson and Kurt Russell Share Sweet Father-Daughter Moments at Toronto Film Fest

Kate Hudson is 37, but she’s still Pa’s little girl.
The actress attended the premiere of her new film, Deepwater Horizon, at the Toronto International Film Festival on Tuesday and was accompanied by none other than her stepdad, Kurt Russell, who’s a co-star in the flick. There was all kinds of cuteness going on between them.
There was a sweet hug:

And smiles all around:

Kate, who rocked the heck out of her Alexander McQueen dress, also posted this Instagram photo of them together and described it as a “special time” for them.

The actress, whose mom, Goldie Hawn, has been in a relationship with Kurt, 65, since Kate was 4, has been talking about what it’s like to work with the man she calls “Pa.” (Her troubled relationship with her birth father, Bill Hudson, has been well documented.)
“This actually was something that was really cool for us to do because we got to be together in New Orleans as a family,” she told the Hollywood Reporter. “My brother Oliver [Hudson] was shooting Screen Queens, so we had all the kids … and [Kurt] had all his grandkids around.”
The mom of two continued, “It was the first time I had been on set on consecutive days with my dad working since I was a kid, so it brought back a lot of … how much I loved working on movie sets when I was a kid. Remembering what that felt like watching him.”
The thriller is based on the story of the real drilling rig of the same name that exploded in 2010 and caused what has been described as largest environmental disaster in U.S. history. Hudson plays the wife of Mark Wahlberg’s character, oil rig engineer Mike Williams, while Russell plays Jimmy Harrell, the boss on Deepwater Horizon.
“I got to see Mark and my pa, Kurt, together,” Hudson told Entertainment Tonight. “I’m biased obviously — it’s my dad — but I just thought, ‘What a great combination they are!‘”
A great combination? Well, the same can be said about Kate and Kurt last night.
