Kate Middleton Fans Rejoice as She Makes First Public Appearance in 6 Months Amid Cancer Battle

After six long months of rumors and speculation, fans rejoiced as Kate Middleton made her first public appearance in six months amid her cancer battle.

The Princess of Wales stepped out for her first official royal gig since Christmas (and her March cancer announcement) during the annual Trooping the Colour on Saturday, June 15.

During the parade, Middleton rode in a carriage with her three children, Prince George, who turns 11 next month, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. Her husband, Prince William, 41, rode on horseback in uniform.

Alongside other senior members of the British royal family, Middleton smiled and waved from the Buckingham Palace balcony during the 41-gun salute at Green Park and the Royal Air Force flyover. The 42-year-old mom of three wore a classy white ensemble with black detailing for Trooping the Colour and a matching hat.

Of course, King Charles III, 75, who announced his own cancer diagnosis in February, attended with Queen Camilla, 76. Other royals who made an appearance included Princess Anne, 73, and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, 69, and Prince Edward, 60, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, 59. Prince Edward's daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, 20, was spotted, too.

On X, royal fans reacted to Middleton's first official appearance since Christmas. One person wrote, "Wow, she's so strong to make a public appearance after such news. Hope she’s feeling okay and gets all the support she needs."

Another X user commented, "She is back!" while someone else wrote, "Rooting for her and her health."

One day before Trooping the Colour, which celebrates the reigning monarch's birthday, Middleton took to social media with a rare update on her cancer journey—and to announce she would attend the event.

"I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet," she wrote on Instagram and X.

In her lengthy message, the Princess of Wales noted that her "treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months" and that "there are good days and bad days."

"I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty," she shared. "Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal."

Middleton concluded: "Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me."
