Katherine Schwarzenegger won't share photos of her daughter with Chris Pratt. Here's why.
Katherine Schwarzenegger is passing down one of "the greatest gifts that my parents ever gave me" to her own daughter with actor Chris Pratt: The gift of privacy.
Though she has shared several sweet photos of her daughter's fingers and pajama-clad legs, the new mom hasn't shared a picture of Lyla's face. And she doesn't plan to.
The author, 31, and the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star, 41, have agreed to keep their 7-month-old's face off social media until Lyla is old enough to make her own choice.
"It's something that's really important to my husband and I to give to our kids and to be able to have that privacy, and not necessarily show much of them on social media," Schwarzenegger told Hoda Kotb during an appearance on the "Today" show Tuesday.

As the daughter of Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, she knows a thing or two about growing up in the spotlight. But despite her superstar lineage, Schwarzenegger said her parents gave her "as normal of an upbringing as possible."
"I think that one of the greatest gifts that my parents ever gave me and my siblings is the gift of privacy and having a really normal upbringing," she recalled. "We were allowed to be our own people and have our own identity and kind of choose to step into whatever form of being public we wanted to when we felt comfortable. And I think that was such an incredible gift to have given us kids."
The internet, however, has evolved since Schwarzenegger's childhood, for better and for worse. She previously called out "meanness and bullying" on social media after her husband went viral in October as Hollywood's least desirable Chris.
"Is this really what we need?" Schwarzenegger commented under E! News' Instagram post. "There’s so much going on in the world and people struggling in so many ways. Being mean is so yesterday. There’s enough room to love all these guys. Love is what we all need not meanness and bullying. Let’s try that."

One thing Schwarzenegger loves is being a mother. She called parenthood "the best thing in the entire world."
"I love every minute of motherhood so far," she told "Today." "I just feel really blessed and really lucky 'cause she's such a happy and easy baby."
Schwarzenegger and Pratt welcomed Lyla in August. Pratt also shares 8-year-old son Jack with his ex-wife, Anna Faris.
"We couldn’t be happier," Pratt wrote in an Instagram post with a photo of himself and Schwarzenegger holding the baby's hand. "Both mom and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed."
