Keke Palmer Keeps It Classic in Sharp Black Velour Christian Louboutin Pumps at 7th Annual American Black Film Festival Honors
Keke Palmer attended the 7th Annual American Black Film Festival Honors held at the SLS Hotel yesterday in Los Angeles. Beyond Palmer, notable attendees included Tika Sumpter, Loretta Devine, Yvette Nicole Brown, Anthony Mackie, Giancarlo Esposito and Marla Gibbs, among others.
The “Nope” actress kept it classic on the blue carpet in a pair of black heels hailing from Christian Louboutin. The chosen style, which appeared to be the designer brand’s beloved Kate silhouette, included textural velour uppers that transitioned into sharp triangular toes. Blood red leather soles offered the all-black shoe a pop of color, breaking up the monochromatic color scheme.

4-inch stiletto heels rounded out the set, offering Palmer a height boost. Simplistic in nature, the neutral silhouette allowed Palmer’s dress to take center stage, acting as a supporting character of sorts that created a cohesiveness. The sculptural heel was dressy and effortless.
It’s believed that Christian Louboutin dreamt up the idea of lacquered red bottoms thanks to his assistant after spotting her painting her nails. The motif has since become one of the fashion industry’s most iconic symbols boasting exclusivity and elegance.
Partnered with her red bottoms, the “One of Them Days” star donned a contrasting white Balmain gown. The garment was meant to mimic the look of a classic crisp white button-down shirt. The designer piece sat off the shoulders and included a collar motif and long ornate sleeves that gave way to a floor-length skirt with a slit up the front.
For footwear, Palmer often gravitates towards bold pumps and sandals from Jimmy Choo, Christian Louboutin and Giuseppe Zanotti, among numerous top brands. The actress chooses more casual styles for her off-duty looks, regularly wearing sneakers by Vans and Nike. However, she’s also a supporter of independent designers like Isa Tapia and Jerome C. Rousseau.
