Kesha Teases New Music Says “First Day I’ve Owned My Voice in 19 Years”

American singer-songwriter Kesha, the pop sensation is back with a bang. After a long legal battle with her former producer Dr. Luke and his label Kemosabe Record. Kesha took to her Instagram to give her fans a sneak peek of her upcoming music, singing lyrics that hint at a fresh start “I’ve been waiting for you/ Everything’s changed now/ We haven’t talked for a while,” she sang.

Kesha also took to Twitter to share her excitement, posting a tweet, “First day I’ve owned my voice in 19 years.”. She also launched a new website, keshaiswaitingforyou.com, with links to her social media and an cover image of her nude back in a desert landscape.

Kesha’s Had Over a Decade Legal Battle With Dr. Luke

Kesha’s journey to this point has been anything but easy. Kesha signed a deal with Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe Record back in 2005 at the tender age of 18, marking the start of her association with him. Since 2014, she’s been locked in a legal battle with Dr. Luke, accusing him of sexual assault and emotional abuse. Despite the challenges, Kesha persisted, fighting for her freedom and eventually releasing her fifth studio album, ‘Gag Order,’ in 2023, largely produced by Rick Rubin.

Recently, In November 2023 came into the limelight by omitting Diddy’s Lyrics from her popular song TikTok, while performing at a concert. Amid the rapper’s legal abuse battle with his ex-girlfriend Cassie. Kesha performed the hit song ‘TiK ToK’ without the original opening line, “Wake up in the mornin’ feelin’ like P Diddy.” Instead, Kesha sang, “Wake up in the mornin’ feelin’ just like me.” and showed a solitary for her ex-girlfriend Cassie.
