Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick Recreate a 1950s Photo in Style! See Their Viral Video
It’s no secret that Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are Hollywood couple goals. Having tied the knot in 1988, not many can say they’ve remained as strong and in love as these two veteran actors have. While we can’t say what exactly their secret is, it sure seems as if the two manage to keep the excitement and spontaneity alive in their relationship.
In a video posted to Instagram over the weekend, the darling duo took on the challenge of recreating a photograph of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward that they have hanging in their home. The photo depicts Newman and Woodward standing beside one another in the kitchen, Newman leaning over the stove cooking something in a pan while Woodward stares at him, holding their pup.
The original photo dates back to 1958 and was taken in the kitchen of their Beverly Hills home — and for Sedgwick and Bacon, they were definitely not overlooking the details.
“So the big idea is that we take this incredible, iconic photo of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward and we try to recreate it in our own kitchen,” explained the actress.
She continued, “I worked with Paul and Joanne, and they used to invite us over to their house and they used to cook for us. And so that was kind of amazing.”
In the adorable video, the famous couple suited up for an adventure of epic proportions, in which they headed to a vintage store to try on various pieces and outfits that could come together and emulate that in which the famed actor and actress are wearing in the retro photo.
Sedgwick and Bacon’s shopping experience was filled with adorably quirky moments between the two, from him handing his wife a pair of size 12 shoes to cheekily admitting to the camera that he isn’t the biggest fan of shopping. In the end, it all worked out for the cute-as-can-be pair, as they found the pieces they needed to bring the photo to life — and the results were iconic!

The adorable couple, who met on the set of the film Lemon Sky, have enjoyed a long, loving relationship with one another filled with respect and admiration. Married by 1988, they welcomed their son in 1989 and a daughter in 1992.
Aside from their personal relationship, this lovely couple has enjoyed a flourishing professional relationship over the years.
While people often turn to the duo for relationship advice, Sedgwick said to PEOPLE in 2020: “I joke that the secret to a successful marriage is to not take marriage advice from celebrities. I guess if I had to think too much about [our marriage], that would probably not be a good thing. We just got lucky. I honestly believe that’s truth.”
