Kid-Approved Games for Your Super Bowl Party
Super Bowl 2024 is almost here, which means you need to start looking for ways to keep your little ones engaged during the big game without making them feel left out. We know, mamas, that’s a task! However, the good news is that we have some game ideas that your kids will love during the Super Bowl party or halftime. These games are fun and engaging and can be played alone or with friends.
1. I Spy
A kid-approved game perfect for your Super Bowl party is I Spy. Hand them a list of things your little ones must find during the game, commercials, or halftime to tick it off the list. The one who completes the list first gets to order/pick the dessert for the night.
To make the game even more interesting, you can ask your kids to write down how many times they see those listed objects or what songs the pop icons crooned during halftime. This will keep the kids glued to the screen for a reasonable span, and you can enjoy the game uninterrupted.
2. Stacked cups
Collect those empty cups and stack them up. Now, ask your kids to knock them down. The kiddo who knocks down the most cups gets to decide the next game to play at the Super Bowl party. If you don’t have cups, you can use empty plastic bottles (in similar shapes), place them on a flat surface, and start bowling.
Even adults can try their hands at these games or can hold a competition – kids vs adults – to see who aims better. This is a great game for toddlers since it’s impossible to make them sit on the couch through the entire game. This game will keep them occupied for a long while you watch the Super Bowl 2024.
3. Treasure hunt
This is another fun game that kids of all ages love. Hide objects throughout your house, around your bedrooms, living area, etc., and ask your munchkins to find as many objects as possible in 2 minutes (don’t forget to set a timer).
You can also draw a little treasure map for the little ones to decipher. Moreover, you can make the game more enjoyable for the kids by hiding things related to the Super Bowl. You can hide a mini football, some team flags, and a player’s jersey number, among other things.
Here comes the twist: the kiddos must find and provide tidbits about the objects. For instance, if your kid finds a team flag, they have to identify the team’s name from the color or logo and list the names of its players. It is a fun way to introduce your kids to the game. Don’t apply the same rule to your toddlers. Instead, let them find the football-themed objects and count them for you.
4. Football donuts on string
This game has the kids’ stamp of approval. It can be played indoors as well as outdoors during the halftime. Make or buy some football-themed donuts, and hang them on a string at a bit of height. Then, ask the kids to gobble down or bite the dangling donuts with their hands at the back.
It will be fun to see kids jumping and trying to grab a bite of their favorite sweet treat. To avoid food wastage, tie recyclable plastic cups or bottles on a string, see who opens the knot, and untangle the cups first.
5. Football word scramble
Keep your kids occupied with this little brain teaser. This is also a great game to check your teen’s football knowledge. Based on the age of your kids, scramble some football terms and let your kids form the correct words from those. You can also offer this activity to adults who are not into the big game but love word scrambles.
Apart from these kid-approved games for Super Bowl parties, you can also play Super Bowl bingo, mini football cornhole, ring toss game, and more. If you have toddlers, keep them busy with a football-themed coloring book or simple puzzles. So, which games will you plan for your kids to keep them busy at the Super Bowl party?
