Will Kim Cattrall be in season 3 of ‘And Just Like That…’?
Sadly, no. Cattrall won’t be reprising her role as Samantha Jones. The actress herself confirmed it by writing on X (formerly Twitter), “Aw that’s so kind but I’m not.”

Cattrall made it very clear that she never wanted to reprise her role in the show, telling Variety in 2022, “I was never asked to be part of the reboot. I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media.”
“The series is basically the third movie. That’s how creative it was.”
The actress did make it very clear, though, that she was not abandoning her character, saying, “Can you imagine going back to a job you did 25 years ago? And the job didn’t get easier; it got more complicated in the sense of how are you going to progress with these characters?”
“Everything has to grow, or it dies. I felt that when the series ended, I thought that’s smart. We’re not repeating ourselves. And then the movie to end all the loose ends. And then there’s another movie. And then there’s another movie?”

Despite saying she wouldn't reprise her role, the actress did appear in the show's season 2 finale. She had a small cameo, where her character Samantha said goodbye to Carrie Bradshaw’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) apartment over the phone.
Cattrall worked with the show's original costume designer, Patricia Field, to help with her comeback, telling The View hosts, “It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, ‘What can we do?’ and I went, ‘Hmm, Let me get creative’. And one of those things was to get Pat [Patricia] Field back because I just thought that if I’m going to come back, I gotta come back with that Samantha style. I gotta push it. And we did.”
What we know about season 3 of ‘And Just Like That…’
Season 3 of And Just Like That… is currently filming in New York City as of publication.
Many of the show's original cast are expected to return, with the exception of Sara Ramirez and Karen Pittman. Joining the cast are Rosie O’Donnell, Logan Marshall-Green and Jonathan Cake; however, their roles are being kept a secret.
Season 3 is expected to air sometime in 2025, but if you can’t wait that long, Sex and the City is available for streaming on Netflix, and And Just Like That… is available on Max.
