The Kinks’ Dave Davies to Reunite With Lost Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Trophy After It Was Listed on eBay

The KinksDave Davies will be reunited with his long-lost Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction trophy, after it turned up listed on eBay earlier this month.

The Kinks guitarist posted about the circumstance on Twitter on Thursday, explaining that he “lost track of my award years ago and didn’t know where it was” until seeing the eBay auction.

Continuing, he wrote that the trophy was likely acquired after a storage unit of his sold off items in 2004, after he was “incapacitated” by a stroke. “I’m grateful to have made a full [recovery] from my stroke but it’s a shame that I wasn’t contacted. I’m assuming this is what happened,” he tweeted.

After finding the eBay auction — which was made by former record store Colony Records — Davies reports that his team wrote “to the seller and are waiting to hear back. I don’t want to have to pay 12 grand to get my own award back, but maybe we can work something out more reasonable.” Then, shortly after, Colony Records reached out to Davies via a Tweet, assuring that they’d “work it out.”

Now, it looks as if Davies is on track to be reunited with his trophy, though the specifics of a deal with Colony Records are still unknown. Check out the tweets below.

Meanwhile, Davies spoke this week to Showbiz 411, and revealed that he and his brother Ray Davies “get along very well” these days. For more, revisit Davies conversation with Kyle Meredith from last year, where he spoke about The Kinks, Star Trek, spirituality, and more.
