KJ Apa Says ‘Not a Day Goes By’ Where He Doesn’t Think About Riverdale

KJ Apa might be busy promoting his new movie One Fast Move, but it looks like Riverdale is not fully in his rearview just yet.
Though the cast made jokes aplenty leading up to Riverdale’s polyamorous finale with season 7, in a new interview with Elite Daily, KJ Apa admitted that he actually thinks about the hit CW show pretty much 24/7.
Since One Fast Move finds Apa sharing the screen with Maia Reficco, one of the core four actors in Pretty Little Liars' spinoff Original Sin, which is notoriously set in the same universe as Riverdale, Apa was asked if he’d ever consider stepping back into Archie’s shoes. “100%, I’d do it,” he answered. “I miss Riverdale. I miss everyone on that show. Not a day goes by where I don’t think about it.”

Apa’s Riverdale costar Camila Mendes already prophesized this sentiment in an interview from 2022. Though Mendes admitted that “everyone [was] ready for that next chapter” and felt like they were “outgrowing the show in a way,” she noted that “ultimately, we’re all going to be sad when it’s over.” And, well, she hit the nail on the head if Apa is thinking about the show every day just a year after its conclusion!
Apa added that it is the bond with his castmates he misses the most about the show, which aired from 2017 to 2023. “I still keep in touch with everyone,” he said. “There’s a group chat with me, Casey [Cott], Charles [Melton], Cole [Sprouse], and Drew [Ray Tanner]. I talk to Cami [Mendes] a lot. I’ve had her and Rudy [Mancuso] over for dinner a couple of times. I talk to Lili [Reinhart]. We all love each other.”
“We’ll probably be 80 years old and still have this bond, even if we haven’t spoken to each other,” he added. “I would die for every one of them. Truly, I would.”
While Apa is ready to dust off the Riverdale High varsity jacket for a potential PLL cameo (or maybe even more), he has one condition: no hair dyes, just wigs. “I’d do it, but not if they dye my hair. I wouldn’t dye my hair again.”
