The Knocks & Wyclef Jean Reveal the Secret to Sweet Moves in ‘Kiss The Sky’ Video: Exclusive
You waddle down the street with an arm full of dirty laundry only to be met with a hand-written sign that reads “Back in 5 minutes.” What are those people doing in there? Practicing synchronized dance moves?
If you frequent the same dry-cleaner as The Knocks and Wyclef Jean, the answer is a strong “probably.” The New York dance duo teamed up with the Haitian-born rapper/singer on the particularly groovy track that turns a famously gritty Jimi Hendrix lyric into something very disco.

When it came time to film the video, dancing just had to be a factor.
“Wyclef’s daughter and friends at Studio L in (New Jersey) came up with great choreography,” The Knocks said in an email statement. “We wanted to create a video that showcased the dances moves in a fun way. We basically want our shows to look like the ‘Thriller’ music video when we play it live.”
The video was filmed at Director Kevin Eis actual everyday dry cleaner. The instructor in the video is the actual son of the actual owner, who also happens to teach linguistics at UCLA. Watch the clip to learn the official dance step-by-step so you can be part of the cool kids at your next Knocks show. You should also watch it out of respect for the director who almost got stabbed making it.
“When we got the exterior shots of Thomas waving us in, a guy tried to mug me and the DP with a knife because it was super late,” Eis says. “My buddy Eric, who helped produce this, is a GIANT and not afraid of anything, came running full speed at all three of us, and the tweaked-out mugger became freaked out, dropped his knife and bolted. Always a good idea to have Eric around.”
