Kung Fu Panda 3: First look at Bryan Cranston and Rebel Wilson's characters
Kung Fu Panda 3 promises a long-awaited family reunion, as Po’s father Li Shan arrives on the scene, and we now have our first look at the papa panda.
USA Today revealed a first look at Li, voiced by Bryan Cranston, who has been absent for most of Po’s life, but made a promise to his deceased mother that Li would find their son.
“It’s a father’s quest to be reunited with his son,” Cranston said of the film.
According to his own son, Li is a “dream dad,” even though he’s been living quite the different lfiestyle from Po.
“Li is the master of chilling. He’s the master of having fun, of hanging out,” Jack Black, the voice of Po, told USA Today. So don’t expect to confuse Li Shan with Heisenberg anytime soon, even if Cranston jokingly said he’d like to include a nod to his Breaking Bad role in the dialogue.
The frst look at Kung Fu Panda 3 also revealed Rebel Wilson’s character Mei Mei — but other than Black describing her as “being super into ribbon dancing,” there’s little else known about her character.
Kung Fu Panda 3 is currently set for a Jan. 29, 2016 release date. For more on the film, check out USA Today‘s full preview.
