Lady Gaga Pumps Up Height in Massive Black Platform Boots for ‘SNL50: The Anniversary Special’
Lady Gaga is still loving her platform styles. Though the multi-hyphenate artist is in a new era, she’s not letting go of her platform style shoes. The performer was on the scene Sunday night at the “Saturday Night Live 50: The Anniversary Special” event as well as the after party to follow. For both she was styled by Hunter Clem who had previously done work for the star during her Chromatica era.
For the “Saturday Night Live” events, Clem put Gaga in a grey dress from Atelein. The one shoulder design features a ruching detail and was styled with black gloves.

For shoes, Clem brought in height: Lady Gaga wore a pair of Enfants Riches Deprimes platform boots. First identified by the Instagram account La Maison Gaga, the boots are a knee-high style. They are made of buffed black calf leather and feature a zip closure on the inside. They also include a square toe.
Most noticeably, the shoes feature a thick platform and corresponding size-able block heel. The platform is 3.5 inches with the heel itself being 6 inches.
The company is currently selling the shoe for $3,800.
The boot is a silhouette than many fashion fans are familiar with now. Most notably, this platform boot with a block heel is the same shape as the Rick Owens Kiss boot which was introduced in 2019. That Owens collection was inspired by Larry Legaspi, the costumer for the band Kiss. But it’s also a style that is somewhat similar to the Marc Jacobs Kiki boot which was introduced in 2016 — that version’s heel is more sculpted than block. It, like the Owens Kiss style, is now a staple of the label.
Gaga has long been a fan of platform styles, due in part no doubt to her own height. Early in her career she became known for wearing towering Pleaser heels. As the years have gone on she’s swapped them out for designer styles, even wearing the Marc Jacobs Kiki. On her “Joker: Folie a Deux” press tour she opted for platforms from Christian Louboutin amongst others. More recently, she multiple pairs of platform shoes to the Grammy Awards include a pair of vintage 1983 Vivienne Westwood Elevated Court pumps and a pair of Mugler booties.
