The Last of Us Season 2 First Preview Teases What’s To Come
The eight-time Emmy-winning series The Last of Us will return for season two, and the first look revealed in May shows us an older Joel and Ellie as the second chapter unfolds.
Those first-look images got a new meaning in a promo spot from HBO and Max, who provided an exciting look at what's to come from them throughout 2024 and 2025.
Among the announcements was our first teaser for season two of The Last of Us, which opens with those familiar fairy lights from the images released in May that'll mean something for fans of the video game.
From there, we see a tattooed arm covered in injuries as Catherine O'Hara asks Pedro Pascal as Joel, "Did you hurt her?"
Pascal exhales a quiet "No", prompting O'Hara to say, "Then what? What did you do?" Joel meets her gaze, and we see Ellie screaming.
We then cut to people running towards a barricade in the snow, a congregation of people dashing through the woods with lit torches, Isabela Merced as Dina with a lantern, shots flying, we meet Jeffrey Wright and Kaitlyn Dever, all culminating with Pascal saying, "I saved her".

The two-minute reel also included teasers for season three of The White Lotus and the new IT prequel series Welcome to Derry.
The Last of Us was saved as the final preview, and it might just be the project people are most looking forward to after seeing the success of season one.
While it doesn't yet have an exact release date, HBO did reveal that the season will land sometime in 2025.
