Lauren Alaina Postpones Upcoming Shows After Suffering Sudden Major Family Loss: 'I Really Don't Have Words Yet'
Country singer Lauren Alaina announced the sad news that her father, J.J. Suddeth, passed away on July 23, stating that she would be canceling three performances scheduled for the weekend in response to the sudden loss.
Alaina took to Instagram to share the news with fans, writing, "We lost my daddy last night, and I really don't have words yet. I want to let y'all know that I'm not able to play the three shows I had scheduled for this weekend in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte as I am going home to be with my family. Thank you for your prayers and understanding. Pinky ??."
The singer didn't share any details about her father's passing or the cause of death.
Many big names in the music industry shared their support for Alaina in response to her news, with Trisha Yearwood commenting, "I love you. So very sorry. ?."
Jake Owen wrote, "I’m so sorry for your loss Lauren. Sending you love and strength from my family."
Jamie Lynn Spears said, "So sorry…. Praying for you," while the Grand Ole Opry replied, "We are so very sorry for your loss! Your Opry family is sending you lots of love and comfort to you and yours. ??."
Many fans shared similar condolences and notes of support for Alaina. The 29-year-old hasn't said whether or not shows scheduled after this weekend will be postponed or canceled in light of the news.
It appears that Suddeth also recently got engaged to a woman named Lori Lytle, as he shared engagement photos on social media at the start of June.
Alaina paid tribute to Suddeth on Father's Day this year, sharing photos from the day she got married to Cam Arnold and writing, "Happy Fathers Day to 'my old man' with a heart the size of Texas!! I love you so much daddy and hope you have the best day fishin’. Love, your turd (pinky) ??."
