Lauryn Hill And The Fugees Cancel 2024 US Tour Dates

Lauryn Hill and the Fugees have abruptly canceled their 2024 tour. On Tuesday evening (Aug. 6), fans began receiving notifications from Ticketmaster stating that the tour had been canceled. Ticketholders received very blunt emails from the company stating, “Your event has been canceled. A refund will be on its way to your account soon.”

Lauryn Hill and the Fugees’ The Miseducation Anniversary Tour was set to kick off on Friday (Aug. 9) in Tampa, Fl., before the tour’s American leg concludes on Tuesday (Sept. 17) in Southern California. Additional shows were set for New York and New Jersey on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 20 – 21).

American fans quickly took to social media to voice their frustrations with the tour’s cancellation. Most fans were not confused by the move as Ms. Lauryn Hill has had a knack for canceling shows for a decade now.

“I have felt a lot of disappointment in my life (Philly sports fan here! ) but not much compares to Lauryn Hill & the Fugees canceling their tour days before it was scheduled to start,” a fan typed on X/Twitter. “Seeing them perform in Philly, a city so close to their hearts & mine would have been a dream!”

“ITS SO DISHEARTENING BEING A FAN OF LAURYN HILL,” another fan exclaimed on social media. “Last October, an hour before the show in Dallas, it was canceled with no warning. I tried again this run even when EVERYONE clowned me saying I was foolish for trying. Canceled AGAIN. I love Lauryn man. But damn yo. DO BETTER.”

However, the issue is an exclusively American problem at the moment, as the tour’s overseas dates are still active on Live Nation’s site. The international leg of the tour is set to begin in Manchester, England, on Saturday (Oct. 12) before bringing the planned event to an end on Tuesday (Oct. 22) in Amsterdam.

Interestingly enough, Ms. Lauryn Hill doesn’t have any updates on her social media regarding the sudden cancelation. The artist’s most recent post on Instagram is a birthday tribute dedicated to the Marley Matriarch, Rita Marley.

Hill and Wyclef Jean told the world they were planning to hit the road for The Miseducation Anniversary Tour after their performance at the BET Awards back in June. The tour was initially postponed to “prevent any long-term negative effect” on Ms. Hill’s voice and body. Now, it seems the tour’s American leg is just canceled.
