Laverne Cox Showcases Dazzling Fishnet Mesh Pumps to Talk About Her New Show ‘Clean Slate’ on ‘Sherri’
Laverne Cox paid tribute to Grace Jones and Beyoncé while making a recent appearance on the “Sherri” daytime talk show.
Slingback pumps have been a popular trend throughout the winter season so far, and the model/actress showcased her take by way of a sleek pair of pointed-toe pumps, which have also been a recurring theme in the colder months. Her pumps were emphasized by their elongated, triangular construction in the upper.

Wearing a fancy pair of fishnet mesh pumps with a hint of shimmer, the shoes were crafted with patent leather material, featuring a slender ankle strap that locked her feet in place as she walked. She appeared to be wearing a pair of the transparent strappy mesh hollow pumps from Onlymaker, a brand that makes size inclusive shoes. The actress posed next to host Sherri Shepherd, who was wearing a pair of pointed-toe pumps herself.
While the back of Cox’s shoes couldn’t be seen completely, they were likely completed with a razor sharp stiletto heel that measured approximately between 3-to-4 inches in height based on her previous preferences. Serving as a compliment to her outfit, the pumps were indicative of a style that has been trending throughout 2025 thus far. This year has seen the style trend on an upward swing with stylists recommending pointed shoes to achieve simple and classic looks for the fall and winter seasons.
In-fact, actress Kerry Washington recently made an appearance at the Michael Kors fall RTW 2025 fashion show as part of New York Fashion Week in a pair of pointed-toe slingback pumps from the brand. Those pumps included patent leather crafting, were emphasized by their triangular design in the upper, and featured a singular slender black strap present along the mid-foot, crossing into another slim black buckled strap that wrapped around her ankle. While the back of her shoes also couldn’t be seen, it’s likely hers were also completed by a stiletto heel measuring between 4-to-5 inches in height based on her previous preferences.
Cox has also chosen to wear them on several occasions. For an appearance at the New York special screening of “I Am: Celine Dion” at Alice Tully Hall in June 2024, she opted for a pair of slingback pumps constructed in an elegant minimalistic style that featured a precisely-cut angular pointed-toe box on the upper as its standout feature and a slingback construction that included a black strap that wrapped around her ankle. Teaming her pumps with a pair of sheer tights, the shoes were completed by a sharp heel estimated to be between 4-to-5 inches.
