Lea Michele Shares First Glimpse of Baby Daughter Emery Since Birth Announcement as She Celebrates Turning 38

The 'Glee' actress celebrated her 38th birthday shortly after welcoming her second baby, a daughter named Emery

Lea Michele is giving fans a glimpse into her life as a newly minted mom-of-two.

On Friday, Aug. 30, the Glee alum shared a sweet photo from her 38th birthday celebrations on her Instagram Stories, which featured a quick glimpse of her newborn daughter, Emery, whose birth was announced just days ago.

"This is 38?," Michele wrote over a snap of her holding baby Emery as her son Ever, 4, sits next to her at a dining table, helping her blow out some birthday candles set against a floral centerpiece.

Michele first announced in an Instagram post on Sunday, Aug. 25, that she and husband Zandy Reich welcomed their second child together.

"Our hearts are so full ?? Emery Sol Reich ??," Michele captioned a photo that featured her, Reich and Ever with their hands on the newborn's leg.

On Aug. 20, just before the birth of her daughter, Michele celebrated Ever's 4th birthday by sharing a photo to Instagram of the mother-son duo hugging each other. In the snap, Ever can be seen wearing a T-shirt that reads: "In My Big Brother Era."

Just last month, Michele opened up to PEOPLE about the differences between her first and second pregnancies — and the challenges that came along with pregnancy during the COVID lockdown era.

"It's been four years, so it doesn't feel as fresh in my brain," she told PEOPLE in July, recalling how she was pregnant with Ever in 2020.

"I think a lot of this experience, it has felt very new to me, because I've been in a lot of new scenarios and new environments pregnant," she continued.

Back in June, the Funny Girl actress got candid by sharing some updates about her pregnancy with fans in an Instagram Q&A session.

“Every pregnancy comes with its own unique ups and downs and we manage them as best we can,” she wrote at the time, sharing a photo of herself in a swimsuit holding her baby bump to Instagram Stories. “But I’m grateful for the energy that I have while also taking care of a toddler at the same time and just feeling so grateful.”

She also shared at the time that Ever was “excited” to have a younger sibling, writing, "It’s so sweet to talk to him about it. I can’t wait for them to meet!"

Michele initially revealed that she was expecting her second child in an Instagram post on March 27.

"Mommy, Daddy and Ever are overjoyed. ??," she wrote in the caption at the time, sharing a series of photos that featured the actress showing off her baby bump.
