LeBron James and Deion Sanders Collide on New Hybrid Sneaker

More from Footwear News

The return of Deion Sanders’ first Nike signature sneaker isn’t the only shoe that fans of the former dual-sport star turned college football head coach have to look forward to next year.

According to new reports, Sanders and fellow Nike endorsee LeBron James have a collaboration-esque style coming out in 2025. The design will reportedly use James’ current signature model, the Nike LeBron 21, and fuse it with the design details of Sanders’ debut shoe, the Air Diamond Turf. Per Sneaker Files, the sneaker will be known as the Nike LeBron 21 Prime 93 and will come in a “Black/White/Fire Red/Metallic Gold” colorway which is expected to mimic the look of Sanders’ “Atlanta Falcons” Air Diamond Turf.

The early info states that the Nike LeBron 21 Prime 93 will use the Air Zoom-cushioned midsole of the standard LeBron 21 while adding signature elements of the Air Diamond Turf — a large midfoot strap, gold mesh cut-outs and heel branding — to the upper. A mock-up rendering of what the hybrid sneaker could look like was also shared by the outlet.

This is far from the first time the signature shoes of James and Sanders have intertwined. The two athletes’ footwear connection dates back to 2018, when the Nike LeBron 15 model was given a “Diamond Turf” makeover as part of the sneaker’s LeBron Watch series. However, this was during a period when Sanders wasn’t contractually aligned with Nike and thus he wasn’t mentioned by name in any of the brand’s promotional materials.

The James-Sanders sneaker ties were reaffirmed in February when the NBA veteran wore a pair of Nike LeBron 21s inspired by Sanders’ third signature model, the Air DT Max ’96. According to Sneaker Files, the “Varsity Red” colorway of that hybrid shoe will also be released during summer 2025 under the name Nike LeBron 21 Prime 96.

The Air Diamond Turf-inspired Nike LeBron 21 Prime 93 is expected to be released during summer ’25 for a retail price of $180. The “Atlanta Falcons” colorway has a SKU of HQ3480-001. This story will be updated with any changes.
