Lena Waithe Joins 'Westworld' Season 3
Lena Waithe is heading to a new frontier.
The Emmy winner has joined season three of Westworld. Waite, 34, confirmed the news on her Instagram on Saturday, reposting Variety's story announcing the casting.
"All I can say is... it’s lit," she captioned the post. Westworld's official Instagram also left a comment on Waithe's post, writing, "Welcome to #Westworld." As of now, details of her character are being kept under wraps.
Waithe -- who is the creator of The Chi on Showtime and a writer on BET's Boomerang -- is the second new cast member revealed for Westworld's upcoming third season. Aaron Paul joined HBO's sci-fi drama last September. The show is currently in production and will likely air season three in 2020.

"I haven't read any scripts, but we don't start 'til next March, I believe, March or April, but what they told me about the world and this person, it was very exciting," Paul told ET of signing onto the series last November, teasing that he "may or may not be" a host.
Season two ended with the deaths of most of the park's hosts, while Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) headed off into the real-world in Charlotte's (Tessa Thompson) body, taking what was presumably the data for a few other hosts, with her.
"I can't say anything!" Paul joked -- but managed to muster up four words to describe what his character brings to the show: "excitement, danger, suspense [and] honesty."
Thandie Newton, meanwhile, called Paul's addition to the cast "intriguing" while speaking with ET at the 2018 Emmy Awards last September.
"We have such strong actors on the show, and to have someone of his caliber... he's got such great energy," she said at the time. "I have no idea what character he's going to play, or anything. So it's very intriguing, too."
