Leonardo DiCaprio, a Kiss Cam, and Rebel Wilson Help Make the BAFTAs Unforgettable
The EE British Academy Film Awards were presented Sunday night, and the Oscar’s cousin from across the pond put on a pretty good show. It had all the A-list celebrities you could ask for, like Tom Cruise, Matt Damon, and Leonardo DiCaprio. Speaking of Leo, he finally won a BAFTA!
In a scandalous moment that is sure to rock the foundation of Downton Abbey, Maggie Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio shared a kiss on the “BAFTA kiss cam.” The kiss cam was a fun addition to the award show. We hope the people from the Oscars are watching and taking note.
Rebel Wilson also made a big splash presenting the Best Supporting Actor award. The actress started by saying, “I have never been invited to the Oscars because, as you know, they are racist.” This drew quite a bit of laughter from the crowd, but the follow-up may have been a little too racy. The actress feigned nervousness and said, “Sorry, Idris Elba. You make me so nervous. I’ve just been sociologically programmed to want chocolate on Valentine’s Day.” Idris seemed to think the joke was funny, but some people on social media thought it was in poor taste.
