Ryan Reynolds’ wife Blake Lively may have one of the most enviable heads of hair in Hollywood, but the Deadpool star is keen to remind the world that his locks have what it takes to be memorable, too.

The 41-year-old actor wished his fans a happy 2018 by sharing a baby-faced throwback photo on Instagram featuring his blonde highlighted mushroom-style Zack Morris-style haircut, joking that he once styled with a “blowtorch.”

“Happy New Year, everybody,” he captioned the shot, in which he’s sitting on steps dressed in a blue and white collared shirt. “The point is, I used to style my hair with a blowtorch.” (Wife Blake Lively liked the photo on the social media platform.)

Now, the father-of-two’s days of highlighted tips are behind him. His go-to style has evolved from the mushroom-style bowl-cut into a mature crop with the sides shorter and the top longer. As for those highlights? They’re now a different shade entirely: Brown with hints of salt and pepper.
