Breaking Down ‘Sister Wives’ Stars Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn Brown’s Family Tree

With three ex-wives, one wife, 18 children and six grandkids, the Sister Wives family tree is a difficult one to follow.

Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown and Robyn Brown all have their own sets of kids with Kody Brown, although Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn consider themselves moms to all of the children in the Brown clan.

Of course, now that Christine, Janelle and Meri have all confirmed their respective splits from the businessman, things will start to look a little different in the Brown households

Meri is the OG wife and originally was the only one legally married to Kody (with the other unions being categorized as "spiritual" in nature). Though they wed in 1990, the pair technically divorced in 2014 in order for Kody to legally marry Robyn and adopt her three children.

One year later, Meri became involved in a catfishing scandal, in which she publicly flirted with and began a relationship with a man named “Sam Cooper,” who turned out to be online scammer Jackie Overton. The situation ultimately added to Kody and Meri’s already strained relationship, which has been documented throughout the long-running reality show.

After months of speculation, the TLC personality confirmed that she and Kody ended their relationship in a joint statement posted to their respective Instagram accounts. “After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship,” the January 2023 post read in part.

Kody and Meri's only child is Leon Brown, whom they welcomed in July 1995. Leon revealed they are transgender in June 2022 but their coming out wasn't initially well-received by their mother. But these days, it seems Meri and the whole family are very accepting of Leon’s relationship with their partner, Audrey Kriss. In August 2023, In Touch confirmed that Leon and Audrey had secretly tied the knot in October 2022, after getting engaged in January 2019.

While Meri was Kody’s first wife, Meri’s child is not the oldest of Kody’s kids. Janelle and Kody welcomed son Logan Brown in May 1994. Logan married wife Michelle Petty in October 2022.

Then, there's Madison Brush (née Brown), also known as Maddie. Janelle gave birth to Madison in November 1995, and she was the first of Kody’s kids to get married. She wed husband Caleb Brush in June 2016. The couple welcomed the first Brown grandbaby, Axel James Brush, in May 2017. Then, in August 2019, the couple had their second child and the next grandbaby in the huge family — Evangalynn "Evie" Kodi Brush. Maddie and Caleb welcomed their third child together, daughter Josephine “Joey” Lee Brush, in February 2023.

Hunter Brown was born in February 1997, followed by Garrison Brown in April 1998. They were both interested in military work and became part of the Air Force and National Guard, respectively. Garrison tragically died by suicide in March 2024 at age 25.

"Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory," Janelle and Kody shared in a joint statement shortly after news broke.

Gabriel Brown is the fifth of Janelle and Kody's children, born in October 2001, followed by sister Savanah Brown in December 2004.

Following in Christine's footsteps, Janelle and Kody ended their nearly 30-year marriage, In Touch exclusively confirmed on December 9, 2022.

While Christine is Kody’s third wife, she is tied with Janelle as the wife who has the most kids with Kody.

Kody and Christine’s first child, daughter Aspyn Brown, was born in March 1995.  She is married to Mitch Thompson. Second daughter,  Mykelti Brown, arrived in June 1996. She tied the knot with Tony Padron in 2016. In September 2020, Mykelti and Tony announced they were pregnant and expecting baby No. 1, which is Kody's third grandchild. They welcomed a daughter named Avalon Asa in April 2021. Mykelti gave birth to twin sons, Archer Banks Padron and Ace McCord Padron, in November 2022.

After Mykelti, the former couple went on to welcome son Paedon Brown in August 1998, daughter Gwendlyn Queiroz (née Brown) in October 2001, daughter Ysabel Brown in March 2003 and daughter Truely Brown in April 2010. Gwen married wife Beatriz Queiroz in July 2023.

Before meeting Kody, Robyn was married to a man named David Jessop. They welcomed son Dayton in January 2000, daughter Aurora in June 2003 and daughter Breanna in April 2004.  All three children were legally adopted by Kody after he and Robyn legally married in 2014.

In a weird twist in the family tree, Christine's daughter Gwendlyn revealed in March 2023 that Christine and David are first cousin.

"When I was in high school, or middle school, when I first learned about that, I used to always refer to Aurora as -- since she and I are biologically second cousins -- she's also biologically my sister cause we are genetically related and we're sisters. So she's my biological sister," Gwen revealed via YouTube.

After they got married, Kody and Robyn had two kids — son Solomon Brown born in October 2011 and daughter Ariella Brown in January 2016.

While it seems like the Browns have wrapped up having children, never say never! Robyn once said she and Kody are "open to God’s inspiration" when it comes to having more kids, so anything could happen.
