Liam Payne’s Girlfriend Kate Cassidy Says He’s ‘Out of the Hospital’ Following Kidney Infection

The influencer shared an update on her boyfriend's health and revealed that the former One Direction star is "doing so much better."

Liam Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has shared an update on the singer’s health after he was hospitalized with a kidney infection.

In a TikTok video posted Tuesday that showed her getting ready for a London Fashion Week event, Cassidy shared that the former One Direction star, 30, is "out of the hospital" and on the mend.

“So I’ve gotten a lot of comments about Liam, asking how he’s doing, and I just want to let everybody know that he’s doing so much better,” said the influencer. “He is out of the hospital and he is in good hands."

A representative for Payne did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Cassidy’s update comes after Payne was forced to cancel his tour of South America late last month after he was hospitalized with a “bad kidney infection.”

The "Strip That Down" singer was due to kick off his tour on Sept. 1 in Lima, Peru and wrap on Sept. 12 in Mexico City.

In a video posted on X on Aug. 25, Payne told his 33.5 million followers, "Hey guys this really is the last news I want to be telling you but basically I've been a little bit unwell recently and I ended up in the hospital with a bad kidney infection.”

"We've started rehearsals and I've just been advised that now's really not the right time to be out on the road trying to recover from this."

He added, "The best people around me are trying to help me recover as we speak but yeah we're going to have to reschedule it all. Please look out for ways to refund your tickets. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys soon. Hopefully we'll put on an even bigger and better show. Thank you and sorry."

In the caption for the video, Payne also shared that he’d been in hospital “over the past week” and the infection was “serious”. “It’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and doctors orders are that I now need to rest and recover,” he wrote.

The musician also added that he was “beyond excited” for the tour and he and his team we’re working to re-schedule the dates “as soon as we possibly can.”

“Thanks as always for the love and support, and look forward to seeing you soon,” the caption concluded.

Last week Rolling Stone reported that the “Familiar” singer was undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in Italy.

Payne was first spotted with Cassidy in October 2022. The duo then made their red carpet debut as a couple in December of that year, attending the British Fashion Awards together in London.

He shares a 6-year-old son called Bear Grey with British singer Cheryl Tweedy. The pair split in July 2018 after more than two years together.
