Liam Payne visited Argentina to see former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan — said pair had things to ‘square up’ before fatal hotel balcony fall
Liam Payne traveled to Buenos Aires to see former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan in concert two weeks before he died in the city at age 31.
On Oct. 2, Payne attended one of Horan’s performances in the Argentine capital.
Before he arrived, Payne said in a video on his Instagram Stories that he and Horan, 31, had things “to square up.”
“We’re going to Argentina,” he said. “One, because we want to. Two, because we want to. And three, because Niall Horan’s playing down there and I think we might just go and say hello.”
The star added, “It’s been a while since me and Niall have spoken. We’ve got a lot to talk about and I would like to square up a couple things with the boy. No bad vibes or nothing like that but we just need to talk.”
Payne was filmed at his former bandmate’s concert at the Movistar Arena.
On Oct. 16, Payne died after falling from a balcony at his hotel in Buenos Aires.
According to witnesses, Payne had been acting erratic in the hotel lobby in the daytime. They claim he smashed his laptop and had to be carried back to his room.
TMZ published a photo of what appears to be Payne’s arm after the singer fell to his death. The outlet decided not to post the picture in its entirety because it reportedly shows Payne’s body on a wooden deck with tables and chairs nearby
Payne rose to fame as a member of One Direction alongside Horan, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson. The group was formed on “The X Factor” in 2010 and broke up in 2016 after Malik, 31, quit.
