Lindsay Lohan returns to the screen in Netflix's 'Falling for Christmas:' Everything we know
Lindsay Lohan is back in her acting bag, or maybe it's more of a Santa sack.
The 36-year-old "Mean Girls" star is returning to the screen this November after nearly a decade-long break for a holiday-themed romantic comedy "Falling for Christmas."
In the movie, she stars as a "newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner," the streaming service says.
Lohan plays opposite "Glee" alum Chord Overstreet in the film and her younger sister Aliana Lohan also stars in the production.
Before "Falling" premieres, here's everything to know about the film and what Lohan has been up to since her big comeback.
When does the Lindsay Lohan movie come out?
With enough time to rest after spooky season, Lohan will make her Netflix debut on Nov. 10.
Netflix announced the premiere date on Oct. 3, which has been dubbed "Mean Girls" day, after an iconic scene in the movie between Lohan's Cady Heron and her high school crush Aaron Samuels when he asked her what day it was.

Is there a 'Falling for Christmas' trailer?
Yes! Netflix released the trailer Friday with a clip of Lohan in her signature strawberry locks.
"Christmas has come early this year and I've come bearing gifts," Lohan said before introducing the first glimpse of the film.
The trailer includes lots of red clothing and snowy scenes set to the tune of "Jingle Bell Rock" (an Easter egg song from Lohan's film "Mean Girls"). In "Falling for Christmas" Lohan's Sierra takes a huge fall off a mountain peak shortly after her boyfriend proposes to her.
She wakes up with a bit of amnesia to a blue-collar prince charming who sees her in the woods. From there the Christmas-themed romance takes full speed.
Why did Lindsay Lohan return to acting?
In an interview for her November Cosmopolitan cover, Lohan said she felt like this movie was "the right fit for me, especially to be able to executive produce it." As an executive producer, she was involved in "the whole casting process, the editing and production process. And even parts of the script," she shared.
"It’s always fun to work on something lighthearted and family-oriented that makes people happy and provides a bit of an escape," she added. "It comes very naturally to me to play a role, especially in a romantic comedy, so it doesn’t always feel like work."
For this film, Lohan said she wants to do "more physical comedy" and go "bigger." The actress will also star in a film called "Irish Wish," which began filming in fall. She teased to the outlet that her character will be "more nerdy."
What happened to Lindsay Lohan?
Lohan has not appeared in a movie since her 2013 role in the thriller "The Canyons," according to IMDb. Her absence from the industry is a stark comparison to her heyday of 2000s teen dramas.
In 2013 the actress was convicted of reckless driving and was ordered to go to rehab and community service. The issues with the law, which became material for a lot of tabloid fodder, lead her to fade away from the limelight with intermittent appearances in magazines and interviews.
Eventually, the star moved to Dubai.
In 2019 during Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen's New Years' Eve broadcast, Lohan made a surprise appearance through video chat saying she was ready to return to the United States and star in movies again.
"(I want to) come back to America and start filming again, which I'm doing something soon," Lohan said. "And you know, taking back the life that I worked so hard for and sharing it with my family and you guys."

Does Lindsay Lohan have a twin?
No, Lohan has three younger siblings, Michael, 34, Aliana, 28 and Dakota, 26.
The confusion may stem from one of Lohan's earliest roles in 1998 movie "The Parent Trap," in which she stars as twin sisters Hallie and Annie. The actress was cloned through movie magic and CGI to play both girls, who in the film were separated after their parents split.
What are some other Lindsay Lohan movies?
The actress' early aughts resume is pretty long as she's starred and co-starred with many Hollywood legends, including Jamie Lee Curtis. Here are some other notable Lohan films:
"The Parent Trap"
"Life-Size"
"Freaky Friday"
"Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen"
"Mean Girls"
"Herbie: Fully Loaded"
"Georgia Rule"
