Lindsay Lohan & Tina Fey Have the 'Mean Girls' Red Carpet Reunion Fans Have Been Waiting for
Lindsay Lohan isn’t in the new Mean Girls movie musical, but she was there to support the new cast at the premiere in New York City on Monday night. She wasn’t expected to attend, so her surprise appearance was a welcome one, 20 years after the original Means Girls movie made its debut.
Lohan played the original Cady Heron, so it was fitting that she had a red-carpet reunion with Tina Fey, who is reprising her role as Ms. Norbury in the 2024 film. The women greeted each other warmly and both looked genuinely happy to see each other for such a special night. Lohan, who had son, Luai, in July 2023 with husband Bader Shammas, looked so fetch in form-fitting black gown with cut-outs at her waist. Her signature red hair framed her face in gentle waves that echoed old Hollywood glam. Fey looked chic in a polka-dot and butterfly-print dress paired with slingback heels that gave off a whimsical vibe.

The cutest part of their reunion were the snapshots that showed the now-37-year-old actress beaming as she looked over at Fey. Fans could see how much Lohan looked up to the former Saturday Night Live star as a mentor — the admiration was written all over her face.
She told Entertainment Tonight how much this night meant to her. “It’s stood the test of time,” she said of the beloved 2004 movie. “I feel really grateful. I mean, it’s not very often that you have all these movies that do that. Mean Girls really opened the doors for a lot of things going on in schools. I think it’s also a really fun movie, so it’s really a blessing.”
Lohan also cherished the opportunity to reprise a grown-up Cady Heron in the recent Walmart Black Friday commercial with her Plastics costars, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert. “The three of us are friends,” she added. “I love Amanda and she’s done so well with her career. She’s such a great actress and Lacey as well. We’re good friends and that’s what matters most.”
Rachel McAdams, aka Regina George, was the only one missing from the iconic TV spot and recently shared with Variety that she “wasn’t that excited about doing a commercial.” However, she sounded a bit regretful after she found her three costars returned to the fold. “I didn’t know that everyone was doing it. I would, of course, always love to be part of a Mean Girls reunion and hang with my Plastics, but yeah, I found that out later,” she revealed. A missed opportunity for anyone who wears pink on Wednesdays!
