Liverpool's New Taylor Swift Mural Celebrates ‘Musical Icon’

A new Taylor Swift mural has popped up in Liverpool just a few weeks before the pop star is scheduled to bring her international Eras Tour to the United Kingdom.

A hotel in Liverpool is celebrating Taylor Swift’s upcoming visit to the area with a special piece of artwork that it unveiled this week.

The “Cruel Summer” singer is currently performing overseas as part of her hit Eras Tour. She kicked off the tour’s European leg earlier this month in France and is scheduled to bring it to the United Kingdom in June.

Liverpool’s Phoenix Hotel took its celebration of Swift's anticipated arrival to a new level on Wednesday, May 22, by revealing a mural depicting the 14-time Grammy Award winner. In an Instagram post that provided a close-up view of the mural, Swift appeared to be wearing one of her Eras Tour outfits as a colorful background hinted at the artwork used for the tour’s merchandise. Swift looked happy as she threw a huge smile over her shoulder, her lips painted in her signature red color and her long hair worn down.

The hotel credited the “beautiful piece” to MurWalls and noted the mural will remain in place along the side of the building “for the next month to celebrate the incoming of a modern musical icon.”

Several of the “Anti-Hero” singer’s fans gushed over the mural on social media.

“Love this!! Going to be brilliant for the city!!??,” one Swiftie wrote in their comment on the hotel’s Instagram post.

“OMG THIS IS GORGEOUS CANT WAIT TO SEE IT IN PERSON ??,” another person wrote.

“?????? So GOOD!!!x,” one Instagram user wrote as another praised the “Brilliant” display.

A Swift fan account on X, formerly Twitter, also shared an image of the “stunning” mural online, prompting one fan to wonder, “can i steal the entire wall.”

The mural’s unveiling occurred just over three weeks before the “Lover” singer is scheduled to be in the city for a short string of shows. Following three dates in Scotland in early June, Swift, 34, will perform for three consecutive nights at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium starting on Thursday, June 13.
