This long awaited Mediterranean rooftop restaurant is opening in Phoenix. What to know

théa, the last of five restaurant slated to open at Sam Fox's The Global Ambassador hotel, will open to the public on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

The menu will include some of Fox's favorite dishes from his travels in Europe, including mezze, pasta and seafood plus shareable plates like dips, flatbreads, vegetables and marinated protein skewers.

"I've been to Greece, the south of France, Capri off the coast of Italy. And what I love about all those places, at those restaurants the food is light, it's fresh, it's vibrant, it's healthy. You're usually eating fish out of the Mediterranean, and you're used to getting small plates, sharing tzatzikis and pita and all these great share plates," Fox told The Republic last year. "So I would say that's where I drew most of my inspiration for the rooftop."

The restaurant's location on the roof of The Global Ambassador will provide guests with breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain.

Reservations will be available online starting Jan. 10.

Hours:  4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 4 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

Details: 4360 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix. 480-800-2211, globalambassadorhotel.com.
