Looking for brunch spots for mom? Here are places if you are struggling for ideas
Don't just get your mother a card for Mother's Day when there are so many fine options to take her out to eat.
If you're looking for places to take Mom out for Mother's Day, which is May 14 — a week from Sunday — one option in the heart of MetroWest is The VERVE Hotel, Tapestry Collection, 1360 Worcester St. (Route 9), Natick.
Tickets are available for two brunch seatings, at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., to be held in the hotel ballroom. The brunch menu features "all you are to eat" buffet stations including crepes, an omlette bar and a salad station. Also included is a raw bar with crab legs, shrimp cocktail and clams.
Each seating is limited to 90 minutes.
New this year is the ability to purchase a private dining room for the family. The private area seats up to 30 guests for a two-hour time period, which includes a private beer and wine cash bar, two bottles of wine on each table and arts and crafts for kids.
Tickets (adults: $85 apiece; children under 12: $50 apiece; children under 2: free) can be purchased through eventbrite.com. Package deals also available.
Here are a few other local (and one not-so-local) options:
Coach Grill
Coach Grill, at 55 Boston Post Road (Route 20) in Wayland, is an upscale option that will serve its regular brunch menu — traditional eggs Benedict and omelets. Mother's Day specials will also be offered.
Seatings begin at 11 a.m.
A regular dinner menu will also be offered. Reservations can be made at coachgrill.com.
Rail Trail Flatbread Co.
Rail Trail Flatbread Co., which celebrated its 10th anniversary in December, is accepting reservations throughout Mother's Day weekend. This Hudson favorite, at 33 Main St. (Route 62), offers wood-fired flatbread pizzas, a wide selection of beer on tap and cocktails.
For Mother's Day, Rail Trail Flatbread Co. is offering a brunch menu, with reservations for the weekend being accepted on the restaurant's website. Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Chiara Bistro
For something a little outside MetroWest, Chiara Bistro, an Italian bistro in Westwood that offers Italian favorites and a lengthy wine list, cocktails and craft beer, is normally closed on Sunday.
But not on Mother's Day.
Chiara Bistro, at 569 High St. (Route 109), will offer seating for brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mother's Day. It will offer a three-course, prix fixe menu ($59 for adults; $18 for children under 12).
Reservations can be made at resy.com/cities/bos/chiara-bistro.
Chill Kitchen and Bar
Chill Kitchen and Bar, at 416 Boston Post Road East (Route 20) in Marlborough, usually serves a pared-down menu for weekend brunch on holidays. But for Mother's Day, it will serve a full Mother's Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Chill Kitchen and Bar's brunch includes classic favorites, as well as twists on classics such as pulled pork Benedict and lobster Benedict.
The restaurant will also serve dinner on Mother's Day. Reservations can be made by calling the restaurant at 508-299-6050.
