Looking for a festival in Erie County? Put these on your list
If you live in Pennsylvania, you've likely been to a festival.
The Keystone State ranks as the sixth most festival-obsessed state, according to research by fashion retailer Boohoo, which sells festival clothing and wear. The research analyzed Google Trends data of the past year for search terms used by festivalgoers, according to information from Boohoo. Wisconsin topped the festival-obsessed list, followed by Ohio. North Dakota was last.

In Erie County, there are festivals celebrating music, art, food, culture and more.
For many communities, the events are a way to highlight themselves and even raise money for local causes, such as volunteer fire departments or charities.

We've compiled a list with as many of the 2023 festivals and similar events, but not fairs, as we could find on websites and Facebook pages. In some cases, only the dates were listed and other details were still being worked out and were to be revealed closer to an event's start. German Heritage Fest: Sept. 2, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sept. 3, 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m., St. Nick's Grove, 5131 Old French Road. DANK Chapter 71 of Erie and Lake Erie Fanfare event with food, music, dancing, merchandise and beer celebrating German culture. Highland Games and Scottish Festival: Sept. 7, starting at 7 p.m.; Sept. 8, starting at 6 p.m.; and Sept. 9, 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m., PennWest Edinboro. Fiddle championships, heavy athletic competitions, Scottish clan gatherings, pipe and drum competitions, weaving, dance competition, archery, kids' games and crafts, folk harpers, music, food and more.
