Louisiana blues guitarist Tab Benoit returning to Ponte Vedra Concert Hall
Tab Benoit is returning to St. Johns County.
The Louisiana blues guitarist, vocalist and storyteller will play the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m. April 16, 2022, after playing in St. Augustine twice in 2021.
Tickets to see Tab Benoit go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at The St. Augustine Amphitheatre box office and ticketmaster.com. Tickets range from $40.50 to $62.50.
Fees can be avoided by purchasing from the box office, which is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays. The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall box office remains closed at this time.
Benoit's concert in Ponte Vedra comes right before his appearance at the first weekend of the 2022 Jazz Fest from April 29 to May 1 in New Orleans.
The Grammy-nominated singer has played in St. Johns County several times over the past few years, including most recently at Colonial Oak Music Park in May 2021. He also played at the Amphitheatre with Samantha Fish in March 2021 and many times at the Concert Hall before that, with the last time being in April 2019.
Benoit, who was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and raised in Houma, Louisiana, started Voice of the Wetlands, a group that promotes conservation of Louisiana wetlands. He was inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame on May 6, 2010, in Erwinville.
Benoit also starred in the iMax motion picture "Hurricane on the Bayou," a documentary of Hurricane Katrina's effects and a call to protect and restore the wetlands.
Benoit released his first album "Nice and Warm" in 1992. He has since released 14 albums. He has also appeared on several compilations.
