Are Love Is Blind’s Ben and Sara Still Together?
Ben and Sara connected during their time in the pods, but it wasn’t exactly smooth sailing. Sara became concerned that Ben wasn’t as passionate about certain social justice issues like she was, but they ultimately overcame the minor speed bump in their relationship. Ben popped the question and Sara agreed to marry him.
Despite making it to their wedding day during the season 8 finale, Sara and Ben ultimately did not get married at the end of the experiment.
What Happened With Love Is Blind’s Ben and Sara in the Pods?
Sara and Ben felt a spark early on during their time on Love Is Blind season 8, but it wasn’t long before the oncology nurse began to question whether or not they truly had the same values since she was determined to find an emotionally mature partner who also cares for others with the same passion she does. When Sara asked the former college baseball player about his views on the Black Lives Matter movement, she wasn’t happy with his answer.
“I’m not one way or another,” Ben replied. “I just kind of keep out of it.”
Sara voiced her concerns with producers and some of the other women in the pods after her date that day.
“Teaching people fundamental values … I can’t teach that,” Sara told the cameras.
She then told her podmate Virginia Miller, “So, he didn’t vote. Then I was like, ‘OK, what do you think about Black Lives Matter?’ and he said, ‘Honestly, I just haven’t educated myself on it.’ That’s important to me.”
Ben eventually put Sara’s mind at ease though as his bio notes that he prides himself on being a team player who values vulnerability in his perfect match. During their following date, he assured her that he was more than willing to do the work to educate himself and learn about the issues she considered important.
“I’m not looking at it as your responsibility to help me with that,” the developer told Sara shortly before he proposed. “I don’t want you to have any burden or any weight on your shoulders thinking that you have to teach me because I do have that motivation to grow into that and that internal feeling that we do have the same beliefs in these things. And yes, we will be on the same side of things.”
Love Is Blind’s Ben Had a Social Media Scandal
The couple faced a major roadblock when a TikTok about Ben went viral, in which a woman named Andra spoke about a bad experience with one of the men on season 8. She never mentioned Ben by name, though she hinted at his identity by saying that the man played baseball for the University of Minnesota.
Sara was concerned by Andra’s claims, and Ben owned up to the video being about him. “I think she’s referencing me. I had seen it. Literally when we were at the brewery,” Ben explained. “I saw this come out, and I’m like, ‘Screw this.’ I don’t want to give her any ability to do anything with me if she decides to release my name or anything. I don’t want to give her control over that, so I blocked her. And because she had blocked me from seeing her TikTok feed.”
Ben added that he “never hooked up” with Andra. “I wish I could give you a more, like, ‘Yeah, it was this dramatic breakup. I didn’t treat her well because of this reason or this reason.’ Or ‘I don’t feel proud of this or that,’ but like, I just honestly don’t remember,” he told Sara. “All I remember was it was four years ago, and it was a short amount of time that we were talking. I just honestly can’t remember what happened.”
Did Love Is Blind’s Ben and Sara Get Married?
The pair made it to their wedding day during the season 8 finale, but Sara said no while at the altar. “Ben, I love you so much, but I’ve always wanted a partner to be on the same wavelength, and so, today, I can’t,” she said amid their wedding ceremony during episode 13. “I’m sorry, but I don’t want that to be misunderstood. I still love you, and everything about you is amazing, and I care about you so much.”
Ben was visibly shocked by her admission, and he said he “wanted to stay” with her and “keep growing their relationship” if she would “let” him. However, Sara admitted she wasn’t sure if she wanted to continue dating him.
Fans will get a full update on their relationship status during the season 8 reunion on March 9, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET.
