‘Love at First Dance’—6 Hallmark Movies Filled With Hot Choreography and Steamy Romance

There’s nothing like a good dance movie. From musicals to teen movies to rom-coms, dance films are inevitably filled with swoon-worthy romance and moves that only those of us with the fanciest footwork can pull off.

Given the channel’s specialty in heartwarming and inspirational stories, it’s no surprise that Hallmark has contributed a number of titles to the tried and true dance movie genre. Here are six of the best Hallmark dance movies, sure to make you want to get up and start moving.

1. Come Dance at My Wedding (2009)

Come Dance at My Wedding follows a dance instructor (Brooke Nevin) who, just before her wedding, makes the difficult decision to sell the dance studio that’s been in her family for generations. Things get complicated when the dad she never knew (John Schneider) comes back into her life and reveals he wants the studio to stay in the family, but has no interest in selling it.

2. Come Dance With Me (2012)

Ever wanted to see '80s icon Andrew McCarthy bust a move? Then you’ll love Come Dance With Me, a romance that finds the handsome star signing up for dance lessons in the hopes of coming up with a perfect proposal timed to his wealthy girlfriend’s (Stephanie Anne Mills) family Christmas dance party. Soon trouble starts brewing, as he develops feelings for his dance instructor (Michelle Nolden), and is forced to make some tough choices.

3. Love at First Dance (2018)

In Love at First Dance a dance instructor (Becca Tobin) is tasked with helping an engaged couple (Niall Matter and Cecilia Grace Deacon) prepare for their wedding dance. When it turns out the husband-to-be has two left feet and requires extra one-on-one lessons, sparks start to fly between teacher and student, throwing the upcoming wedding into question.

4. The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango (2023)

If you like your Hallmark dance movies with a side of murder, The Dancing Detective: A Deadly Tango is the one to watch. In this caper, a detective (Lacey Chabert) teams up with a charming dancer (Will Kemp, who was a classically trained dancer before he became a Hallmark hunk) in the hopes of solving a murder that happened suspiciously close to an upcoming ballroom dance competition.

5. Dream Moms (2023)

Dream Moms tells the uplifting tale of two busy moms (Tamera Mowry-Housley and Chelsea Hobbs) who come together to compete in a televised talent competition. In finally fully realizing their longstanding passions for song and dance, they learn the importance of following their dreams and taking time for themselves.

6. Romance With a Twist (2024)

While many dance movies focus on ballet or ballroom, Romance With a Twist is all about aerial dance — a captivating type of dance where people fly through the air on hanging pieces of silk. In this movie, a former dancer turned construction manager (Jocelyn Hudon) meets an aerial dancer (former Cirque du Soleil performer Olivier Renaud) while on the job, rekindling her passion for dance. When his dance partner suddenly bails before a big show, she has an opportunity to perform with him — but aerial dance isn’t easy, and neither is navigating a potential new romance.
