LSU student going on summer tour with his uncle, country music superstar Tim McGraw

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Country music artist, Timothy Wayne, 21, of Franklin, Tenn., is going to be a junior this fall at Louisiana State University. Until then, he will join his uncle, country superstar Tim McGraw, and Carly Pearce on the Standing Room Only Tour 2024.

Wayne said he is going to play six dates, and this will be his first tour.

He will be the “baby act.” Wayne said that describes a “country artist with the least amount of experience or hits” on a tour.

“I’m really excited to see places I’ve never been, to meet new people and to introduce my music on stage to new country music fans,” Wayne said.

He recently signed with Universal Music Group Nashville and released his first song, “God Made A Country Boy.”

Wayne said he has been playing music for the last several years. He sings, writes songs and plays guitar and has many musical influences.

Wayne said those include “country legends with traditional sounds including Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers and Tom T. Hall to the ’90s country music of George Strait, Randy Travis and Tracy Lawrence to the contemporary like Dierks Bentley and Tim McGraw.”

What does the future hold for Wayne? “We are currently in the studio recording and working on a forthcoming project,” he said.
