Luke Perry and Fiancée Wendy Madison Bauer Were Planning Late Summer Wedding Before His Death
Luke Perry was in the final months of wedding preparations when he unexpectedly died after suffering a massive stroke earlier this month. He was 52.
Perry and his fiancée Wendy Madison Bauer were planning to tie the knot in a late summer wedding, TMZ reports.
According to a “save the date” notice sent out by the couple and obtained by the outlet, Perry and Bauer were set to wed on August 17, 2019. The card, which featured a grey and gold color scheme, did not provide further details about the upcoming ceremony.
Last week, Bauer spoke out for the first time since Perry’s sudden death.
“I want to express my gratitude to everyone for the outpouring of love and support,” she said in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE. “The countless, heartwarming stories of Luke’s generosity and kindness have been a great source of solace during this difficult time.”
“The past 11? years with Luke were the happiest years of my life, and I am grateful to have had that time with him,” she continued. “I also want to thank his children, family, and friends for their love and support. We have found comfort in one another and in the knowledge that our lives were touched by an extraordinary man. He will be dearly missed.”

Perry and Bauer, 44, kept their relationship largely private. While it’s unclear when they got engaged, the couple walked the red carpet at the GLAAD Media Awards together in April 2017.
In 2003, Perry amicably split from wife Rachel “Minnie” Sharp, mother of his 21-year-old son Jack and 18-year-old daughter Sophie.

Perry was hospitalized on Feb. 27 after paramedics were dispatched to his home in Sherman Oaks, California. The actor remained “under observation” for five days but died on March 4.
“He never regained consciousness,” a source told PEOPLE. “Things were so dire that they put him under heavy sedation. He was gone, basically, by the time he got to the hospital.”
Perry’s rep announced the Beverly Hills, 90210 star’s death in a statement, confirming he was “surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancée Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends.”
