MORGANTOWN, WV (WVNS) — Multi-genre artist and Ohio native, Machine Gun Kelly, will be making an appearance in Morgantown ahead of WVU’s Week 1 matchup against Penn State.
It was announced on the Big Noon Kickoff show’s X account that the singer-songwriter would be performing as part of FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff.
The post said Machine Gun Kelly will perform at the Almost Heaven Village for a “special on-site” show. He will also perform his newest song, “Lonely Road” live on FOX at 10 AM to kickoff the Saturday morning pregame show.

“Lonely Road” was done in collaboration with fellow chart-topping artist Jelly Roll. The song uses the tune of John Denver’s “Country Roads”. The song by Denver was performed at the 50-yard line of Mountaineer Field in 1980, and is one of the four state songs of the Mountain State, according to the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History.
As a Mountaineer tradition, at the end of every WVU athletic event, all WVU fans will put their arms over one another and belt out every word of ‘Country Roads”.
The post advised fans to get to the Almost Heaven Village by 9 AM to be able to see the show.
