Mark Hamill Still Has Star (Wars) In His Eyes – Toronto Studio

One of the most sublime impersonations of Harrison Ford isn’t from anyone on SNL rather his former Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill who can nail the gruff low bass of the Han Solo actor.

Prior to his interview in the Deadline studio for the movie, The Life of Chuck, we got Hamill going with his Ford impression, here he regales the actor’s interaction with a David Blaine magic trick. Give it a watch below. Hamill’s Ford is the gift that keeps on giving.

In Hamill’s latest reteam with Mike Flanagan, which is based on the Stephen King novel, he plays the wise grandfather to young Chuck, Albie Krantz. The pic charts a man’s life in reverse, from death to birth, chiefly that of Chuck (played by Tom Hiddleston). If you want to understand the human drama and joie de vivre at play in Life of Chuck and the pic’s philosophy, give Walt Whitman’s poem “Song of Myself” a read. It’s an anomaly in King’s horror canon; in fact hardly supernatural at all.

Flanagan and Hamill previously worked on Netflix’s The Fall of the House of Usher. Flanagan directed the King novel to screen, The Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep.

The Life of Chuck is 80% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with critics. WME is selling the movie here at the festival.
