Matt Damon and Ben Affleck Reunite for Crime Thriller RIP
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are getting back together in front of the camera.
They’re set to star in RIP, a crime thriller directed by Joe Carnahan (The Grey, Smokin’ Aces).
While plot specifics are under wraps, RIP will be produced by Damon and Affleck’s company Artists Equity, and is set to begin shooting this fall.
Artists Equity hit big with its first film, sports drama Air, which released spring 2023 to widespread acclaim. Also starring Damon and Affleck, it got an impressive 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, and constitutes a hit on Prime Video, despite only made half its money back at the box office.
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were teaming up again for new Netflix crime thriller Animals, but production is currently on the backburner.
RIP is the latest in a long line of dual starring roles, the last one before Air literally being 2021 historical drama The Last Duel. They also teamed up in 2019’s Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, 1999 comedy/fantasy Dogma, and 1997 drama Good Will Hunting.
It comes as Affleck wraps production on The Accountant 2, which is scheduled to release mid-2025.
