Maxwell Announces The ‘Urban Hang Suite’ Valentine’s Day Cruise To The Bahamas
Maxwell is bringing his talents to new shores, inviting fans for a tropical experience in celebration of his debut album. The Urban Hang Suite cruise is set for Feb. 10-14, 2024 and the full lineup promises four days of R&B excellence.
The inaugural cruise will take place on the Norwegian Pearl with stops at Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau in the Bahamas. In addition to two performances from the Brooklyn native, attendees will also be treated to special guest appearances from Ledisi, Robert Glasper, Sabrina Claudio, Musiq Soulchild, Leela James, Gallant, and more.
According to a press statement, the Urban Hang Suite cruise will also feature comedy shows, parties, and more at sea during the Valentine’s Day holiday weekend. The official website lists a casino, spa, art gallery, fitness center, and more as additional amenities.
Ticketing begins at $999 per person, with an additional $349 to all prices for taxes, government fees, prepaid gratuities, and booking charges.
The cruise comes off the “Sumthin’ Sumthin'” singer’s sold-out 25-date arena run, The NIGHT Tour, with Anthony Hamilton and Joe.
Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite was issued in 1996 and features the hit record “Ascension (Don’t Ever Wonder)”, which took the debut to new heights.
The Neo-Soul singer is poised to release blacksummers’NIGHT — the final album of blacksummers’night trilogy he started in 2009 — soon under his imprint, Musze with BMG.
“I will tell them that I hope that they make so much love. If they’re about trying to have babies, make them. I am so tired of hate,” shared Maxwell with VIBE of the pending work.
“I see it every day. We experience it digitally every single moment of the day. It’s almost to the point where it’s like, ugh! Enough! So, my goal is to bring that love. To bring that universal love, to bring that Black love, that Brown love, that Latin love, that Caribbean love, that African love. Love. L-O-V-E-E-E-E. That’s what I want people to do. We have been through so much. People have lost a lot of people. We are polarized in so many different ways. I’m not here to get into the who’s right and who’s wrong part. People know where I stand and how I do what I do, but this new album is about celebrating love. So, get the chocolate out, get the wine, get the champagne, whatever you got to get, flowers, roses, petals. Write her name out and you know.”
