Maya Erskine Revealed She Welcomed Baby No. 2 in the Most Relatable Way on the Emmys Red Carpet

Maya Erskine’s Emmy nomination was not top of mind last night as she walked the red carpet of the 2024 Emmys. No, instead she was quite worried about a wardrobe malfunction — and not in the way you might think.

While some celebrities worry about your standard fashion snafus — an accidental rip or a nip slip — Erskine was worried about an overactive nip.

“I’m just trying not to leak — just so you all know, I just had a baby so my milk is coming in. It’ll look like it’s part of the dress coming out the dress,” she said of her beige gown covered in white flowers.

“The hardest part is the [red carpet] pictures for me … I’m really holding everything in right now.”

Michael Angarano and Maya Erskine at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards held at Peacock Theater on September 15, 2024 in Los Angeles, California.

And that just might be the most relatable part of the entire 2024 Emmys. Breastfeeding mothers of newborns know Erskine’s struggle all too well. A leak can happen at any moment and tends to happen at the most inopportune times. (Because of course it does.) And while it’s definitely annoying for Erskine when she has a leak at home while wearing a T-shirt, it is what it is. But for a leak to happen while wearing a designer gown on national television with cameras flashing …

Yeah, we can understand why the red carpet was what the nominee for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series was most worried about.

” … So I feel like once I go into the theater, I’m going to splay out and enjoy, watch everyone, root for everyone,” she continued. “It’s just going to be fun.”

Along with her newborn baby girl, Erskine and her husband, actor Michael Angarano, share a 3-year-old son Leon Frederick. The proud parents had announced she was “coming this summer” back in April.

When Erskine announced she was pregnant with Leon, it was right before election day in Nov. 2020.

“When 2 becomes 3 ???? And please vote. #bidenharris2020,” she captioned a photo of her and Angarano showing off her baby bump.

Who knows, maybe the first picture of Leon’s baby sister will be posted before election day with a similar endorsement hashtag.
