Mazur exploring Monroe's haunted happenings
Shawna Mazur will share local historical hauntings at three locations this month.
Mazur is the author of “Hidden History of Monroe County, Michigan,” which was published last Halloween by Arcadia’s The History Press. Mazur is an interpretive ranger at the River Raisin National Battlefield Park.
In a one-hour presentation, Mazur will talk about the French legend of monsters, tragic tales, witches, cemeteries, ghost towns and past crimes, including body snatching.

At 7 p.m. Oct. 23, she’ll speak at the Ida Branch Library, 3016 Lewis Ave., Ida.
At 7 p.m. Oct. 26, she’ll speak at the Ellis Library & Reference Center, 3700 S. Custer Road.

At 2 p.m. Oct. 29, she’ll speak in the theater at the River Raisin National Battlefield park, 333 N. Dixie Highway.
All events will include book signings and sales.
