Meg Ryan Stands Tall in Platform Prada D’Orsay Sandals in Rare Appearance at the Oscars 2025
Meg Ryan graced the red carpet in sky-high footwear at the 97th Annual Academy Awards held tonight in Los Angeles.
The “When Harry Met Sally” star flattered her feet in a pair of Prada platform sandals in black. Retailing for $1,320, the D’Orsay style featured textural satin black uppers that transitioned into unique square peep toes.

The sandal silhouette also included thin straps threaded through adjustable buckle closures that secured the shoe to Ryan’s feet. Triangular enamel logo detailing decorated the toes, making the footwear instantly recognizable. Giving the thespian a boost, the D’Orsay shoe also featured sturdy 4.5 inch block heels and equally lofty platform soles standing at 1.6 inches. Logo-embossed soles finished out the set, creating a non-slip feel.
The designer style can be found in a slew of finishes beyond satin, including leather, velvet and patent leather. The shoe also comes in vibrant shades like neon pink and metallic silver. Platforms like Ryan’s create the illusion of length and height, making them a fan-favorite for red carpet moments like the Oscars.
Glamorous and chic, the “Sleepless in Seattle” actress donned a rich red velvet gown. The chosen garment was strapless, form-fitted and sleek, partnered with a daring slit up the side that allowed Ryan a wider range of movement. As for accessories, the thespian picked her bling from Tiffany & Co. Said jewelry was fixed with high-shine gemstones.
The 2025 Oscars , officially known as the 97th Academy Awards, are set to take place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday. The ceremony will honor movies released in 2024.
