Megan Thee Stallion freaks out during Britney Spears homage at VMAs 2024: ‘Come get this snake!’

Megan Thee Stallion was left a little rattled at the MTV Video Music Awards Wednesday night.

Shortly after kicking off the night as host of the 2024 ceremony, Megan turned heads with a stunning homage to the legendary Ms. Britney Spears and one of her most famous VMAs looks.

Megan emerged from a commercial break in a near-identical recreation of the ensemble Spears wore when she performed her hit “I’m a Slave 4 U” at the 2001 VMAs — giant yellow python and all. The python, however, left her wanting to scream and shout.

Visibly freaked out, the “Mamushi” rapper quickly shed the reptile wrapped around her body.

“Stop the music! Stop the music,” Megan shouted. “I’m just playin’! Come get this snake!”

“I don’t know this snake! This snake don’t me,” she added as a stagehand helped take the snake from her.

“Oh my God!” she said once rid of the python. “I tried to hold it down for Britney,” she added before regaining her composure.

The 2024 Video Music Awards marked Meg’s first time as host of the show. She was nominated for 7 trophies.

The 29-year-old rapper first appeared on the VMAs stage in August 2019 as she performed her singles “Hot Girl Summer” and “Cash S – – t.”

So far in her case, Megan Thee Stallion has won two VMAs: Best Power Anthem for “Hot Girl Summer” in 2019 and Best Hip Hop for “Savage” in 2020.

Though this is her first time hosting an award show, the “Otaku Hot Girl” rapper was the musical guest on and guest host of “Saturday Night Live” in October 2022. Additionally, she co-hosted “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in August 2022.

During her SNL monologue, she touched on her studio album “Traumatized,” spoke about mental health issues in the black and LGBT communities, and highlighted her achievements — including graduating from Texas Southern University.

The musician, who is set to perform at the VMAs too, is up for five awards — including Best Collaboration, Best Hip-Hop and Best Art Direction.

Last year, the “WAP” singer made headlines over a reported feud with Justin Timberlake backstage. She debunked the rumors, however, by posting a TikTok video featuring the duo.

“I just talk with my hands

The “Savage” artist has been keeping busy this summer with new single “Mamushi,” featuring Japanese rapper and singer Yuki Chiba, from her 2024 album “Megan.”

The song received over 150 million streams, following up on the success of her diss track “Hiss,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year.

Earlier this month, she also released “Neva Play,” her collaboration with BTS lead singer RM.
