Megan Thee Stallion Puts Spin On “Hiss” With Two New Versions

Megan Thee Stallion wants fans to experience her new single “Hiss” differently. The 28-year-old rapper released two new versions of her latest single.

The first new version stays true to her Houston roots, as it gets the chopped ‘n screwed treatment by OG Ron C. The second strips the record of her vocals, allowing fans to enjoy the beat co-produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat and Bankroll Got It.

“Thee Chopped & screwed and instrumental versions of #HISS are out NOW run it up hotties,” Meg told her fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday (Jan. 31). These additions can help bolster a record that has a real chance of topping the Billboard Hot 100 next week, per a report from the charting powerhouse. If successful, this would be the Houston Hottie’s first No. 1 debut as a lead artist and the first solo No. 1 of her career. Listen to the two new versions of “Hiss” below.

While Megan Thee Stallion may have a lot to celebrate due to her Jan. 26 release, the content of the track sparked some ongoing controversy. She took a shot at Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, by referencing “Megan’s Law,” a federal law that requires publicizing information about registered sex offenders.

Petty was convicted of attempted rape in 1995 and has been a source of slander thrown Minaj’s way since their 2019 marriage. The record sparked the Pink Friday 2 rapper’s ongoing rants via X and her response record titled “Big Foot.”

Minaj names off all of the men that Meg has been romantically tied to on the diss record, in addition to accusing her of having sex with her deceased mother’s former partner. The three-time Grammy winner has yet to respond to the Queens rapper while Nicki claims that she has four more diss records locked and loaded in case that does occur. Listen to “Big Foot” below.
